About the Maker

I have been living in Ireland since 1999 and work from my workshop in rural Co. Mayo.

I studied Musical Instrument Technology at the London College of Furniture (The Cass) from 1988 to 1991, initially making classical guitars. Over the years I have made steel stringed guitars and bouzoukis. In the last 13 years I’ve focussed on making instruments in the mandolin family.

I was a prize winner at the Royal Dublin Society National Crafts Competition in 2007. In 2008 I was commissioned by the National Museum of Ireland to make a mandolin for the national research collections. I am registered with the Crafts Council of Ireland.
